Light Up the Holidays, an Annmarie Garden Tradition

 SOLOMONS, MARYLAND – Anticipated every year as  a favorite holiday tradition, Garden in Lights at Annmarie Gardens is a glorious, Award-Winning, outdoor light show, featuring unique displays of one’s wildest imaginings.

Opening Dec. 7, 2012 and running through January 1, 2013, the garden is open from 6 to 9 pm on scheduled nights (weather permitting).

Begin your evening in the Arts Building where you will find nightly entertainment, exhibits, the annual ornament show and sale, sweet treats, hot chocolate and coffee, special discounts, shopping opportunities, and fun activities, like the “Holiday I Spy Game”.

Garden In Lights is a magical tour that takes visitors of all ages on a beautiful journey through the glittering woods. As you walk along the protected path, you will be transported to a fantastical place of spectacular lights and amazing “light sculpture.” Guests will be surrounded by superheroes, wild animals, airplanes, pirates, princesses, dinosaurs, fantasy land, and outer space…to name a few. All of the “light sculptures” are designed and made at Annmarie Garden; nothing in this show is commercially available.

Admission to Garden In Lights is free for Annmarie Garden Members and Children (4 & under); $6.00 per person otherwise. Ample, accessible and handicap parking is available. Please note that Garden In Lights is closed the evenings of December 10, 11, and 12 (however we are open during the day). Some highlights during Garden In Lights are also described below, with specific dates:

  • The Dream Weaver’s Holiday Café will be open each night of Garden In Lights, starting December 7, 6-9pm. Enjoy hot drinks and delicious treats indoors or while you explore the beautiful outdoor lights.
  • New vignettes for this year at Garden In Lights:
    • Super Heroes!!!!
    • Outer Space
    • The alphabet with animals
    • And of course, we have added to our existing themes – including weddings, Fantasy world, From Sea to the Shore, race cars…
    • December 7 & 8:  Begin or end the Solomons Christmas Walk at Annmarie Garden on Friday or Saturday night! Live entertainment will be provided by Folk Salad Trio on Friday evening, 6-9 pm and Jim and Kathy will perform on Saturday night.
    • December 9:  Entertainment provided by Abigail Francisco School of Classical Ballet

Annmarie Garden will be closed on December 10th, December 11th, and December 12th for private holiday parties – consider having your corporate holiday party at Annmarie Garden

  • December 13:  Golf Cart Tours for handicapped guests with music by Calvert Brass Consortium and the George Washington Carver Elementary Primary Choir
  • December 14:  The Southern MD Teen Piano Group will be performing from 6-7:30 and the Cosmic Flute Choir will perform from 7:30-9 pm.
  • December 15:  Entertainment provided by Doris Justis
  • December 16:  All Public Safety receive $1.00 off – for police, EMS, and fire with ID!!!
  • December 19:  All Military receive $1.00 off!!!
  • December 20:  Golf Cart Tours for handicapped guests will be provided.  Musical performances by Daniel W. Hill of Yellowtieguy and The George Washington Carver Elementary Primary Choir
  • December 21:  All Scouts receive $1.00 off with your pin or badge! Music will be provided by Girl Scouts (carols) and Magic Ray Jazz
  • December 22:  Entertainment provided by Bucket List
  • December 23:  All guests will receive a candy cane! Entertainment provided by Steven Gellman

Annmarie Garden will be closed on December 24th and December 25th

  • December 26:  All Military receive $1.00 off!!!
  • December 27:  Golf Cart Tours for handicapped guests will be provided.
  • December 28:  Entertainment provided by Dominic Fragman
  • December 31:  New Year’s Eve pajama party – wear your pjs!!!
  • January 1st:  Happy New Year!!! Pet Night – bring your pet to Annmarie Garden with a 6 ft or shorter leash.
