As Maryland’s Attorney General, Doug Gansler has had the opportunity to work with some of the most successful criminal justice programming in the nation. Last week, he took time out of his gubernatorial campaign schedule to forward a Baltimore Sun article about empowering at-risk youth in the Baltimore region to promote positive change in their schools and communities.

“In the midst of this campaign, I just want to take a minute to share this excellent piece in yesterday’s Baltimore Sun, profiling the work of Community Law in Action, an organization that engages young people by organizing community service and advocacy projects. Over the years, the Attorney General’s Office has worked with CLIA and had several CLIA students intern with us. CLIA students are bright, talented, and motivated. Their seemingly limitless potential has been truly inspiring to me.

“Working with programs that look to give back to their communities like CLIA, College Bound, Charm City Youth Lacrosse, and Maryland Lawyers Campaign Against Hunger, has been one of the most gratifying parts of my job as Maryland’s Attorney General. I look forward to continuing to support and work with these programs and others like them as Governor.”
