Future of Region’s Transportation Discussed

Officials and residents of Calvert and St. Mary’s counties are looking far into the future of Southern Maryland transportation with the Calvert-St. Mary’s Metropolitan Planning Organization.

The organization is planning a kick-off meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Monday, Aug. 3 at the Calvert Marine Museum, 14200 Solomons Island Road, Solomons, Md.

The plan for the meeting is to allow everyone involved, from residents, businesses owners to elected officials, to give input on the Moving Forward 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan. The organization will be considering how roads, transit, freight, and bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure can best meet the needs of the region.

The meeting will be held in an open house format to allow everyone to provide input.
