Forum to Educate Businesses on Exports

engineering

Three St. Mary’s County organizations are teaming up to present a morning forum about the topic of exporting from 9:30 am to noon on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016.

The St. Mary’s County Department of Economic Development, St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce and The Patuxent Partnership have worked together to create the forum, which will be held at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, 44219 Airport Road, California, Maryland.

Businesses in St. Mary’s County that want to increase their export sales will find a wealth of information about the challenges and opportunities presented by exporting goods.

Presentations at the forum will cover topics such as:

  • Federal and state resources to help Maryland companies advance export sales
  • Information about applying for export grant funds and other financing options
  • Private sector-led networking opportunities and mentoring
  • Free and low-cost matchmaking services
  • Trade show opportunities
  • SUSTA programs and subsidies for agriculture and seafood exports

This forum can help a variety of businesses and has been created especially for the businesses that abound in St. Mary’s County.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, email Robin Finnacom at [email protected] or call 301-475-4200, ext. 1407. Registration and more information also can be found at the event website.
