Energy Rebate Today, Savings for Years to Come

Home and business owners in Maryland can save thousands of dollars investing now in energy efficient equipment from qualifying dealers such as Burchoil and Burch Propane.

Using the Be SMART Home Rebate Program a Burch Oil customer can receive $500 for installing new oil and gas fired boilers and furnaces and a $250 rebate is available for installation of new indirect water heaters.

Maryland’s energy efficiency Be SMART program offers up to $4,250 in incentives to Maryland homeowners to offset the cost of qualified energy efficiency improvements and products. There are also income-driven low-cost financing opportunities available through the Be SMART program,  for the purchase and installation of equipment and materials for energy efficiency measures.

Maryland anticipates the improvements underwritten by these rebates to result in energy savings of 15 to 30 percent. This translates to significantly lower energy bills for consumers, more comfortable buildings and reduced consumption of fossil fuels.

Qualifying energy efficiency items in the Be SMART program include, but are not limited to, ENERGY STAR qualified: HVAC systems, insulation, windows, draft stopping and duct sealing, appliances and fixtures, and water heating equipment, according to the website of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Be SMART is funded through the US Department of Energy’s Better Buildings program.
