E.J. Levy to Read at St. Mary’s College

As part of its highly anticipated VOICES reading series, the English department of St. Mary’s College of Maryland welcomes acclaimed author E.J. Levy on Thursday, Sept. 13. Levy will kick off the 2012-2013 series with readings from her works starting at 8:15 p.m. in St. Mary’s Daugherty-Palmer Commons. This is event is open to the public, free of charge.

E. J. Levy’s fiction and essays have appeared in the Paris Review, the Missouri Review, Gettysburg Review, the New York Times, and Best American Essays and have received a Pushcart Prize and Nelson Algren Award, among other honors. She is the editor of Tasting Life Twice: Literary Lesbian Fiction by New American Writers, which won the Lambda Literary Award. Levy’s collection of short stories, Love, In Theory, won the 2011 Flannery O’Connor Award and has been called “a brilliant debut” by New York Times best-selling author Cheryl Strayed (aka Dear Sugar); it will be released in September 2012.
