An Easy, Popular Quiche Recipe

For those of you who haven’t been to the Mixing Bowl located just outside of Gate 2 of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, its daily specials are definitely special. Each morning, hours before the first guest arrives, the kitchen staff is hard at work making sure that the day’s menu is ready and the kitchen is well stocked with fresh delicious food.
Here we have an inside look at what goes into one of their popular lunch specials: a bacon quiche. This recipe is very versatile, and can be adjusted at home and is in fact served with many variations at The Mixing Bowl. In the recipe below, carrots, onions and broccoli add some body to the fluffy egg dish, with a hearty portion of bacon and cheddar cheese to top it off. The base of the recipe calls for heavy cream and eggs, a bit of salt and pepper and of course, cheese, but you can tweak this for many palates by substituting different meats, cheeses and even vegetarian options.
