DynCorp Loses in Lex Park

The Baltimore Sun reported last week that “DynCorp International, a federal contractor based in Northern Virginia, warned Maryland officials that it would lay off 74 employees in Lexington Park.”
DynCorp International employs 1,109 people in Lexington Park, Maryland according to the St. Mary’s County Technology Handbook.
Two companies use the DynCorp name. DynCorp International provides the bulk of aircraft maintenance at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. This company includes portions of the original DynCorp organization, including the aviation branches, which were spun off by owner CSC in 2005.
DynCorp — without the suffix — also continues to operate in Lexington Park, Maryland and is not facing layoffs. The company was purchased by CSC in 2003.
