Dance, Music, Readings, & Art Open May at CSM

The College of Southern Maryland wraps up its spring season with something for everyone at its La Plata, MD, campus during the first week of May. The Southern Maryland campuses teach the full spectrum of arts and also open to the public exhibits and performances throughout the year. These four spring events cover that spectrum.

CSM Dance Performance: “The Fresh Sounds of Spring.” 7:30 pm, May 2. College of Southern Maryland La Plata campus, Fine Arts (FA) Building, Theater, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. The CSM Theater and Dance Program will perform an assortment of dance numbers in a variety of styles, including hip-hop and classical. $5 in advance, $7 day of event. CSM Student Honors Recital. 2:30 pm, May 5. College of Southern Maryland, La Plata campus, Fine Arts (FA) Building, Theater, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. Music students are selected by their studio teachers to present performances featuring a variety of instruments and voice. Free. [email protected], 301-934-7828.

CSM Spring Connections Reading. 7:30 pm, May 6. College of Southern Maryland, La Plata campus, Center for Business and Industry (BI) Building, Dr. John M. CSM Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery: Annual Juried Student Exhibition. Until May 6. College of Southern Maryland, La Plata campus, Fine Arts (FA) Building, Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. Paintings, photos and sculptures showcase the works of CSM fine arts students in this annual juried exhibition. The gallery is open 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Friday; and Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.
