CSM Trustee Reads ‘Inch by Inch’ to Preschoolers

College of Southern Maryland Board of Trustees Vice Chair Mike Middleton, chairman and CEO of Community Bank of Tri-County, interacts with preschoolers at the St. Charles Children’s Learning Center at the College of Southern Maryland (CLC) as he reads “Inch by Inch” on April 3.

As a celebrity reader, Middleton said it was fun to read to the youngsters. “Thanks for inviting me, you really made my day,” Middleton told the students.

The story, by Leo Lionni, follows a smart inchworm who distracts would-be predators by offering to measure their wings, legs, beaks, tails—and songs.

The CLC is on CSM’s La Plata Campus and provides daycare to infants up to 5-year-olds. Currently, there are openings for preschoolers. For information on the Children’s Learning Center, visit www.csmd.edu/clc.
