Warrington, Pa. – Sabre Systems, Inc. announces its successful appraisal to Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 for Services. The CMMI for Services model, governed by Carnegie Mellon’s CMMI Institute, previously the Software Engineering Institute, provides a comprehensive integrated set of guidelines for providing superior services.

Sabre adds this new appraisal, CMMI-SVC v1.3, to its existing CMMI Maturity Level 3 appraisal for Development, CMMI-DEV v1.3.

The CMMI Institute’s published database of appraised companies includes only a handful of U.S. companies that have achieved CMMI-SVC v1.3 Maturity Level 3 or higher, and even fewer have also achieved a CMMI-DEV v1.3 Maturity Level 3 appraisal.  The appraisal was performed by ChangeBridge Consulting, Inc. for services and development projects.

Sabre has demonstrated that it meets or exceeds the best-practice standards for the Services and Development models.  CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC) is a collection of best practices that focus on work management, process management, service establishment, service delivery, and support. CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) provides the framework to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of product development work.  Combined, these constellations allow Sabre to understand the interrelationships of its projects, process activities, and measures related to its work products and services.  The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for Maturity Level 3, is established and improved over time.

“CMMI services and development models convey significant cost savings and benefits to our customers.  The mature and sophisticated processes and industry-recognized solutions improve performance, productivity, schedules and quality performance,” explains James Krout, chief operating officer at Sabre Systems, Inc.
