Art for Kids

Are your children little racecar drivers in the making? Maybe they just love crafting and painting something for you to put on the fridge. If so, bring them to the artLAB Mom’s Club on March 3 from 9-11 am. The theme of this artLAB is “CD Racers” where children will be using CD’s to create their very own “racecar.” The Mom’s Club offers preschoolers (ages three to five) the opportunity to create wacky, colorful works of art at a budget-friendly cost! Member cost for this event is $5, non member cost is $7 and each additional sibling is only $2. No registration is necessary for this event, so pack up the car and come by Monday morning!

Are you looking for an artistic, educational project to supplement your home schooling program? Join Joanne Paskoff in the artLAB on Tuesday, March 4, for the Art of Invention workshop from 9-11 am. This program is designed for ages seven – twelve, but can be adjusted to be as simple or complex as each student wishes. During the Home School workshops students compare artists and inventors and create and build their own innovative creations. Take-home materials add depth to the lesson and allow you to continue to study each topic at home. Member cost for this workshop is $10, non-member cost  is $14. Second sibling cost for both members and non-members is only $5. Advance registration is required for this event; to register call or email (410) 326-4640 or [email protected].

Storytime comes to life during Annmarie Garden’s interactive, hour long Art+Story Story sessions. Children ages four to six learn basic elements and styles of art, and even some art history through readings of children’s books, games and inventive art projects. The next Art + Story Session will be held March 5, 10:30-11:30 am and costs $8 per child (member cost) or $12 per non-member. Space is limited for this class, and advance registration is required. To register call (410) 326-4640 or email [email protected]
