CAPT Heidi Fleming, NAS:Pax River Executive Officer among panelists at  SoMd Professional Women’s Forum

The Southern MD Professional Women’s Forum: Opening the Door to Small Business Opportunities will be celebrating women of character, courage and commitment with its March forum during women’s history month.

The March 27th small business forum will provide information about the Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) program and opportunities for WOSB to do business with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). In attendance will be Mr. Garry Newton, Deputy Commander, NAVAIR and Ms. Edith G. Butler, Procurement Analyst, U.S. Small Business Administration, Office of Government Contracting.

The day’s panel is titled, “How We Got Where We Are Today and How to Go Further.”  Panelists are CAPT Heidi Fleming, Executive Director, NAS Patuxent River; Barbara Ives, Dean of Academics, St. Mary’s Ryken High School, and Adelle Pierce, President, AM Pierce. These women will share the journeys taken to their current careers, including their challenges, achievements and advice.

The forum will be held from 11 – 4  March 27, 2014, at the Bay District firehouse at 46900 South Shangri La Dr., Lexington Park, MD 20653.
