Business PhD & More New Degrees at SMHEC

Higher Ed Center

The Florida Institute of Technology doctorate of business administration program is now available at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California, MD.  FIT’s business PhD program will start in the fall 2016 semester at SMHEC.

This joins more new degrees coming to the SMHEC from FIT. The Florida Institute of Technology is presenting a master of business administration and two more new masters of science degrees, an MS in engineering management and an MS in technology management.

The DBA is a one-of-a-kind, face-to-face 42 credit doctoral degree. It is a professional degree that prepares students with the advanced knowledge necessary to manage complex corporate environments. The Florida Tech DBA is a cohort program that meets one weekend per month (all day Friday and Saturday) for three years or longer for completion.

If a student holds a master’s degree in business, management or related field such as an MBA or an MS in engineering management or technology management and is considering furthering his or her education at the doctoral level, he or she might consider the Florida Institute of Technology’s doctor of business administration program offered at SMHEC starting in the fall (moved up from fall 2017).

Through the application of theory, use of advanced research skills and an understanding of the complex challenges that exist in the public and private sector, students earning a DBA develop important skills in strategic planning, organizational behavior, human resources management, financial management, innovation and entrepreneurship, quantitative research and more.
