The merger of Burch Oil and C.L. Pitcher Company, Inc., two Southern Maryland family-owned and operated businesses, became official Monday morning. The transition is expected to be easy, as both companies have built their reputations on excellent customer service.

“We wanted to ensure that the company we partnered with had the same dedication to their customers and employees as we do,” stated Carl Pitcher, owner of C.L. Pitcher Company, Inc. since 1994. “We are excited to announce that we have merged with the Burch Oil Company.”

Reassuring new customers, Elliott “Sonny” Burch, Jr. stated, “Although we have been around for 84 years, we know we have to earn your trust and deliver the service you have enjoyed with Carl and Patty.” In a recent customer letter, Burch welcomed calls to discuss monthly budget pay plans, equipment installations, service contracts, and 24 hour emergency services. New for these customers, propane products and services are available from Burch Propane.

Burch Oil’s motto is “a tradition of warmth, a commitment to value.” They have been looking after friends and neighbors and treating them like family since 1928. Four generations later, Burch Oil remains family owned and operated. They are committed to upholding the company standards of excellent customer service, a tradition of caring, and a reputation for responsiveness.

During the merger process, Pitcher will join the Burch Oil team to help with the transition and requests that customers contact Burch Oil directly for their fuel needs.
