Briefing Updates Unmanned Aviation Weapons Status

The Patuxent Partnership will present an update on unmanned aviation and strike weapons presented by Rear Adm. Mat Winter, Program Executive Officer for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons, Nov. 20 from 8 am – 9:30 am at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center.

The mission of the Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons office is to expeditiously develop, acquire, and support quality air to ground strike weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles, and target systems with which the operating forces, in support of our Unified Commanders and allies, can train, fight, and win.

RDML Mat Winter will discuss the transformation of current and future user requirements into timely and cost-effective solutions across his PEO U&W Portfolio.

“We are pleased to have RDML Winter brief the public on the most recent advancements of PEO U&W, a critical program to the Navy. We expect to have an excellent turnout,” said Bonnie Green, Executive Director, The Patuxent Partnership.

The program is scheduled for Wednesday Nov. 20. Check-in is 7:30 am at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, Building 2, Center Hall,  44219 Airport Road, California, MD 20619. The briefing begins at 8 am and concludes at 9:30 am.

There is no cost for the program; it is open to TPP Members and the community.

Rear Adm. Winter is the program executive officer for unmanned aviation and strike weapons at Patuxent River, MD. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and was designated a Naval flight officer in 1985.
At sea, Rear Adm. Winter flew the A-6E Intruder with Attack Squadrons 42, 85 and 34 aboard aircraft carriers USS Saratoga (CV60), USS America (CV 66), USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) and USS George Washington (CVN 73).
