All We Need Is Beauty
Some say Carolyn Egeli is a dreamer, believing fostering beauty in the world will bring prosperity to all.
Yet the concept has worked technically, as she points out. All kinds of communities have fostered artists and artistic enclaves to seed economic and cultural renewal. The technique has succeeded in as varied places as small Midwestern towns to down-and-out urban corners in virtually every metropolis in the nation.
And fostering beauty works internally, Ms. Egeli says, producing happiness and thus health and thus happiness. And so it goes.
