Before you know it, summer break will be here along with the dreaded “summer slump,” that time of year when studies say our kids can lose up to two months of the knowledge they worked so hard to acquire the previous year.

Banish the brain drain and keep your kids actively learning. The Summer Knights programs at St. Mary’s Ryken cover a wide variety of interests to keep young minds churning away and primed for the next school year.

Programs are for students in grades 3-12 and run from mid-June through July. Registration is open now.

For students in grades 3-5, there are the “All About Kids” camps featuring “Puppetry: Talk with the Hand,” “Math Munchies: Creative Cooking,” and “Get Fit!”

For students in grades 6-8, there are the “Middle Schools Pathways” camps featuring American Red Cross Babysitter Training, the Leadership Academy, Chinese, CSI Ryken, VEX Robots, Intro to Art and Painting, STEM Energy Camp, and more.

And, there are the popular SMR athletics camps run by SMR head coaches and coaching staffs including girls basketball, boys basketball, beginning and intermediate sailing, volleyball, field hockey and more.
