SoMD Women's Show3 Chicks Promotions, producers of the SOMD Women’s Show and Kids’ Expo, have announced plans to donate proceeds from their Bachelor Auction to assist service members who have been injured in the line of duty.

All proceeds from the SOMD Women’s Show Bachelor Auction will be donated to the nonprofit organization Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), and will support a full range of programs and services for this generation of injured veterans and their families.

The SOMD Women’s Show – an annual regional, tri-county event focusing on women-centric programs and products that cater to women such as healthcare, beauty, hair and skin care, salon and spa services, real estate, banking and financial services, home and car care, retail and shopping products, etc – will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California, Maryland from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As a part of the show, the Bachelor Auction charity event will “auction” a collection of eligible bachelors – including local firemen, emergency workers, military members, professional community members, and a very handsome wounded warrior – and some spectacular date packages all in the name of charity (pictures, date packages, and more to be announced in the coming weeks).

“We are thrilled to be offering a charity component to this year’s Women’s Show,” said Kimberly Hoctor and Carol Picon, Co-Founders, 3 Chicks Promotions and SOMD Women’s Show & Kids’ Expo.  “As military spouses, the Wounded Warrior Project is very near and dear to our hearts.  We are honored to be able to offer a conduit in which we, and our community, can give back to this extremely important program.”

Over 47,000 servicemen and women have been injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.

WWP’s 18 programs and services are uniquely structured to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

The SOMD Women’s Show Bachelor Auction benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project will take place during the event on April 27, 2013.  The auction will start around 12:00n.  Pre-event donations are currently be accepted at the SOMD Women’s Show website, www.somdexpos.com/charity-auction.

Vendor Opportunities Available

With the upcoming event in full swing, there are several vendor and sponsorship opportunities available.  3 Chicks Promotions are in search of vendors that offer products, services, and programs that cater to women.

In addition to the SOMD Women’s Show, the SOMD Kids’ Expo will take place in a separate section of the event venue.  The Kids’ Expo will feature family-friendly exhibitors who provide products and services to a specific audience – MOM; hence, any vendor offering children and/or mom-specific products or services are encouraged to apply.

Deemed as one of the hottest events in 2012, the SOMD Women’s Show and Kids’ Expo hosted 100 vendors and well-over 650 attendees from the tri-county area.  This year, the event coordinators are expecting over 200 vendors and close to 1,500 attendees to participate.

“The quality of vendors in our inaugural event – which included brick-and-mortar, non-profit, small business, and home-based companies – as well as the activities, completely surpassed everyone’s expectations,” said Ms. Hoctor.  “Last year we featured a fashion show, various demonstrations, food tastings, shopping, and informational services.”

As a part of this Call for Vendors and Sponsors, participating companies will not only have the ability to showcase their services/products to the consumer market, but this is also an incredible business-to-business networking opportunity.

Sponsorship levels range from overall event sponsorship, main stage, courtyard, Man Cave, to Swag Bag, medium, and small sponsorships.  Exhibitors also have the choice of indoor or outdoor premium spaces to basic exhibitor spaces.
