Art Activity Celebrates Dr. King

art activity

A four-day event that starts Jan. 15 will bring members of the community together at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Each day from Jan. 15 to Jan. 18 from 11 am to 4 pm, participants will be able to celebrate diversity, unity, and ambition with three fun projects that are suitable for all ages to enjoy. Admission to this event is free.

Projects include a window art installation, wish jars, and a communal coloring tent. These activities are designed to be both fun and educational, teaching children about the history and legacy of one of history’s most prolific and influential civil rights leaders. The event could be a perfect opportunity for parents to open a dialogue with their children about civil rights and what King’s legacy is today, and the art projects can help make the dialogue more appropriate for different ages. Also, participants will have a keepsake to take home.
