Army-Navy – Eggs & Legs Breakfast – So. Md. Tradition
The Eggs ‘N Legs Breakfast prior to the annual Army-Navy gridiron contest is a local southern Maryland tradition. Sponsored jointly by the Patuxent River chapter of the Navy Supply Corps Foundation and the Greater Southern Maryland Chapter (GSMC) of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. Eggs ‘n Legs harkens back to the spirited Army week breakfasts in King Hall leading up to the Brigade’s pre-dawn departure aboard the “milk carton” buses bound for Philadelphia and the annual fall classic. The menu of scrambled eggs, Maryland fried chicken legs, waffles, ice cream & strawberries was enough to fortify even the stoutest of appetites for the four hour ride, the March On, cheers, pre-game antics, and celebratory push-ups following every Navy score!
The 2012 Egg’s ‘N Legs Breakfast will be held Friday, December 7 at the River’s Edge Club beginning at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $15 for Adults; Children 10 and under half price.
