Annmarie Garden Announces Winter Events
Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center announces their 2014-2015 winter events schedule, starting with their traditional Annmarie Garden In Lights exhibit, held from December 5, 2014 through January 3, 2015, 6 to 9 p.m. nightly. The exhibit will be closed on December 8, 9, 10, 24, and 25.
Annmarie Garden In Lights, a Southern Maryland holiday tradition, takes visitors of all ages on a journey through glittering woods filled with nightly entertainment, exhibits, an annual ornament show and sale, sweet treats, and fun activities. As you walk through the wooded path, watch for the brilliant vignettes of famous people, places, and works of art. This year, Annmarie Garden In Lights will be stepping it up with additional one-of-a-kind light sculptures and lights that provide rich, vivid colors.
Don’t forget to peek around the trees and look for hidden treasures! Follow the “Holiday I Spy” program to find a green shamrock hidden in each vignette.
The admission for ages 5 and older is $6; children younger than 5 as well as Annmarie Members are free. A dollar-off coupon is available online. Start your tour in the Murray Arts Building where you will also find the Ornament Show & Sale, nightly entertainment, exhibits, and the Hardest Haven Holiday Cafe. From Washington DC (about a 60 minute drive): take Route 4 South Exit 11 off Capital Beltway (to Prince Frederick). Continue on 4 South, following signs to Solomons. Left on Dowell Road at Hilton Garden Inn. Annmarie is less than 1/4 mile on left. From Baltimore (Beltway I-695): take I-97 (Annapolis) to Route 301 South (Bowie). Continue on 301 to Route 4 and follow signs to Solomons. Left on Dowell Road at Hilton Garden Inn. Annmarie is less than 1/4 mile on left.
