Popular Annmarie Garden fundraiser rescheduled to Oct. 1

Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center’s popular annual event, Chili In the Garden – Chili Cookoff & Classic Car Show,  has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, from 9 am to 3 pm.

The event is typically held in early June, but due to a scheduling conflict, the event has been postponed to October.

Chili in the Garden is presented in conjunction with the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI), and features a chili cook-off, a car show, live music, and more.  Proceeds from the event support the program budget of Annmarie Garden. To learn more about the event, call 410-326-4640 or visit the website link mentioned above.

During June, Annmarie Garden is offering a new program,  Yoga in the Garden, where kids and parents can do yoga together. The next Yoga in the Garden is scheduled for June 11.

Kathy Therrein will lead the workshop, and smaller children between 3 and 5 years old can do yoga with a parent from 10 to 10:30 am, then the older children who are 6 and older can do yoga with a parent from 10:45 to 11:45 am. This amazing, family-oriented yoga class will take place outside, where participants can enjoy the benefits of nature while they exercise.

Class will include postures, partner poses, yoga games, techniques for breathing and relaxing, and lots of smiles! Parents and kids can enjoy family time together as they learn to appreciate nature and take better care of their bodies.

Dress for the weather. The class will be held in the park if weather permits. Bring a mat or beach towel and a water bottle. You don’t have to have any prior experience to enjoy this fun and educational class.

When the class is over, stick around to check out the artLAB or play in the park. Pre-registration is required for this class.
