Adults Can Go Back to Class at Annmarie

Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center in Solomons offers a number of adult classes throughout the year and wrapping up 2016 is a basic pottery class.

Pottery Basics

Learn techniques from hand-building to wheel-throwing at the Pottery Basics mini session from 6:30 to 9:30 Wednesday, Dec. 21. This class will offer a comprehensive skill set in clay, working with clay slabs, coils, and the potter’s wheel. Work on vases, cups, bowls, casseroles, platters, and more. More advanced students will focus on perfecting their skills and troubleshooting “problem” areas. Last class will be a fun and dramatic raku firing! Pre-register by calling 410-326-4640.

An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, Annmarie Garden is located off of Route 2-4 on Dowell Road  in Solomons. The sculpture garden features a walking path that meanders through the forest past permanent and loaned sculpture, including more than 35 works of art on loan from the Smithsonian and the National Gallery of Art. Annmarie Garden also presents a variety of special events, gallery shows, and public art programs.
