Davis Named Hoyer Press Secretary
Annaliese Davis has been named Maryland press secretary for Congressman Steny H. Hoyer.
Congressman Hoyer said he was pleased to offer the promotion to Ms. Davis. She has been a member of Hoyer’s staff since 2014. “Annaliese has demonstrated a strong work ethic and thorough understanding of issues important to the Fifth District,” Congressman Hoyer said. “I’m confident she will continue to enhance the work of my office as I communicate with constituents and local media.”
Ms. Davis has served as the press assistant and researcher in Congressman Hoyer’s leadership office since January 2016. During the 2016 campaign cycle, she spent a month volunteering in Orlando as press secretary for Rep.-elect Stephanie Murphy (FL-07). Before that, she served as national political assistant at Congressman Hoyer’s AMERIPAC office. Prior to that position, she worked on the Suzan DelBene for Congress campaign in Washington’s 1st Congressional District, and while in college she spent a semester reporting from the Washington State House for the Tacoma News Tribune. Ms. Davis graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts in Communications: Journalism in June 2014.
Hoyer recently retained his position as minority whip of the US House of Representatives. As House Democratic whip since 2011, Congressman Hoyer is the second-ranking member of the House Democratic leadership. He is charged with mobilizing the party vote on important legislation, shaping House Democrats’ legislative priorities, and delivering the Democratic message. Congressman Hoyer previously served as House majority leader from 2007 to 2011, and as House Democratic whip from 2003 to 2007.

The staff at Congressman Hoyer’s Waldorf District Office handles the constituent casework of Charles and St. Mary’s counties. This office can help with issues ranging from passport problems, immigration issues, or other specific casework issues.
The office is at 401 Post Office Road, Suite 202 in Waldorf; 301-843-1577, fax 301-843-1331. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday except federal holidays.
