COSMIC Conducts Young Artist Competition
Do you know of a great young artist in Maryland? Are you one yourself?! Compete for the chance to perform a solo in concert with COSMIC Symphony and you may win a cash prize.
The Young Artists Competition seeks to promote, encourage, and foster the musical development of young artists who reside in the state of Maryland. Find additional details here.

Eligibility Requirements
YAC Junior Division
- Contestant is 18 or younger on the date of Sunday, 23 February 2025
- Contestant is an instrumentalist (string, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, etc.) or vocalist
- Contestant is a state of Maryland resident
- Contestant is not under professional management
- Contestant is not a previous winner of the COSMIC YAC Junior Division
YAC Senior Division
- Contestant is between 19 to 24 years of age on the date of Sunday, 23 February 2025
- Contestant is an instrumentalist (string, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, etc.) or vocalist
- Contestant is a state of Maryland resident
- Contestant is not under professional management
- Contestant is not a previous winner of the COSMIC YAC Senior Division
COSMIC Symphony nurtures the performance of high-quality orchestral music, showcasing Southern Maryland talent.
As Southern Maryland’s only community orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland in Concert (COSMIC) affords residents the opportunity to enjoy high quality orchestral music during the fall, winter and spring without leaving Southern Maryland. Performances are scheduled in St. Mary’s, Charles, and Calvert Counties.
COSMIC Symphony’s primary objective is to provide the Southern Maryland community with high quality classical music performed by its own local musicians. COSMIC Symphony provides an enjoyable orchestral experience for a large cross section of our community through the diversity of its musical selections. The music selections include a family program, music for young adults, holiday favorites, and symphonic music for the serious concertgoers.
