Vintage Never Goes Out of Style

Is Vintage for You?
Yes!
More women, and men, are adding vintage clothing and accessories to their wardrobes in the spirit of re-use and re-consideration.
The right piece of vintage clothing or accessory can take a traditional ensemble and turn it spectacular. It can make the dress that you and a dozen other women purchased at the department store into the most memorable of them all.
Vintage is no longer for school-aged non-conformists, wafer thin artistic types or a costume party. Vintage is for the person who wants to make their clothing their own.
Consider starting with a simple piece or a particularly arresting piece of jewelry. Clip some old earrings onto your shoes. Shop with a favorite outfit in mind or one you keep putting back in the closet because it lacks, well, something. Something as simple as changing a belt, or changing the buttons to a vintage set could re-cast the look entirely.
Don’t let a piece of vintage clothing’s history stop you from giving it a new future. Wear it as an under or over-layer. Wear it backwards. A black, cap-sleeved, light wool blouse with buttons down the back became a favorite lightweight fall jacket of mine for a number of years.
I’m certain, even if you have never bought vintage before, there is something that will work for you in Colleen’s Dream , a couple doors down from the Square in Leonardtown on Fenwick Street. Stop in Thursday through Saturday.
