Navy Working Capital Fund Topic of Program

The Patuxent Partnership will host an in-person presentation on the Navy Working Capital Fund. The program will cover the NWCF’s legal basis, background, how it works, private sector similarities and differences, constraints, investments, and benefits.

The presentation will be held from 8 to 9 am Wednesday, August 11, and will be given by Gene Townsend at the University System of Maryland Southern Maryland’s Building 2, Center Hall at 44219 Airport Road in California, MD.

Mr. Townsend served as comptroller of NAWCAD from 1977 to 1996, has been the chief financial officer for three defense companies and one IT startup, and currently teaches business and finance and continues to be actively involved in many community organizations in Southern Maryland.

Those who do not have a TPP user account may exit out of the pop-up dialogue box that reads “Please log in to register for programs” and just complete the screen that requests attendee info for event registration. TPP invites you to create a TPP user profile (username and password) for ease of registering for future TPP programs.

USMSM guidelines for gathering (as of June 24, 2021): Although the state of Maryland has lifted capacity limits as of May 15, entities are allowed to maintain their own policies as appropriate. USMSM still expects some distancing in seating/meeting areas. USMSM Staff will no longer do temperature checks or contact tracing sheets at the entrances of the buildings. Individuals entering the buildings will still need to sign in and note that they are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and wear a mask if if they are unvaccinated.
