Putting military wives into the equation snapped everything together for Amy Thompson. When she opened Lola Belle Co. she knew a lot of her customers needed decor capable of adapting to any posting the Navy could throw at them.
The shop, on northbound Route 5 out of Leonardtown, shares space with a contiguous carpeting business. Lola Belle carries everything from the floor up from one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, lamps, mirrors, drapery and upholstery goods and services to sophisticated home-wares and other accessories and gifts. Three military wives work as decorators for Ms. Thompson who describes them as experts at turning your last home’s furniture into a perfect fit for your new home.
Known for her parking lot festivals, Ms. Thompson is hostessing Lola Belle’s Holiday Open House is Nov. 19 and celebrating with a storewide sale and food for all.

This third weekend coincides with the monthly opening of Vintage Source in Compton a few miles beyond Lola Belle Co.
