Blue Angels on Biofuel

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus jetted down to Naval Air Station Patuxent River today to announce that the Navy’s air demonstration team, the Blue Angels, will be flying their F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft on a 50/50 mixture of petroleum jet fuel and camelina-based biofuel oil during this weekend’s Pax River Air Expo event. Mabus was followed to the podium by Blue Angels commander Capt. Greg McWherter, who said the fuel has not noticeably changed the performance of his team’s planes.
