The indoor and outdoor inventory at Dyson Building Center is thorough and diverse; however it is probably their latest innovation that may prove most ambitious in reaching their goal of finding new customers.  The small business is jumping all in after the marine market.

Instead of simply having a marine department as they do today, Dyson Building Center is currently improving nearly every department of their store to incorporate a greater number of marine oriented products.  For example, their fastener department will now have a more robust selection of stainless steel hardware.  Their plumbing section will have a greater selection of fittings used in boating and any other marine applications.  Their paint department will have a larger selection of marine paints, stains, and varnishes.  This continues for almost every section and will also include crabbing and fishing products, marine adhesives, boat supplies, and dock necessities.  The marine supply overhaul is going on now and is expected to be completed this spring of 2014.

Dyson Building Center has been proactively adapting with the times for nearly a century and is poised to keep doing so.  Dyson Building Center and the huge retail stores are competing for the business of the same local pool of customers.  In addition to great service and diverse products, Dyson Building Center customers can also shop with confidence knowing the money they spend goes directly back into stimulating the local economy.  The same cannot be said for the big boxes that send profits back to their headquarters in places far away like Arkansas, Illinois, North Carolina, and Minnesota.  All Dyson Building Center profits stay in Great Mills with its family of owners and employees.  Much of the store’s inventory is even purchased from local and regional manufacturers or suppliers.

Dyson Building Center is conveniently located on the southbound side of Point Lookout Road in Great Mills.  They are open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm  Stop by, take a walk around, and become part of the family.
