Enjoy a night under the stars Sept. 18 at the Olde Breton Inn during Starlit Nights, a fundraiser for Walden Behavioral Health.

Walden’s Starlit Nights is the second fundraising evening of strolling entertainment to bolster the nonprofit agency’s services. Walden has served the behavioral health needs of Southern Maryland for more than 40 years.

Founded in 1973, Walden stands at the fore of behavioral health treatment, education, and family support services. Their comprehensive array of behavioral health services continue to change lives for the better.

To bolster funding for the many services Walden provides to all, their second annual fundraising evening of strolling entertainment and a’la carte dining is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2015. Starlit Nights begins at 7 pm at Olde Breton Inn.

Walden’s array of services is designed to provide clients with the help they need – when they need it. Events like Starlit Nights are designed to help the organization continue to bring “Help for today. Hope for tomorrow.”

Walden utilizes evidence-based practices including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Risking Connection
Seven Challenges

The not-for-profit has been operating in Southern Maryland since 1973, celebrating more than 40 years of innovation and response to growing community needs.

It provides psychiatric services and individualized treatment based on individual need. While Walden accepts payment from health insurance companies and Medicare, there is still a need for funds to provide the excellent service for which Walden is known. Walden offers individualized alcohol and drug treatment to fit the individualized needs of both adolescents and adults. Walden counselors typically suggest the least restrictive level of care that meets the individual’s need for treatment.

Walden offers walk-in assessments at each of the locations Monday through Friday from 11 am to 2 pm in Lexington Park, Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 pm in Waldorf and Monday through Friday 11 am to 2 pm in Charlotte Hall.

Family education and engagement is available and encouraged.
