Vote for Your Favorite of 17 Innovators, May 13

Seventeen innovators entered the region’s first pitch contest, and bring with them ideas for crop health monitoring, digital prosthetics, high resolution underwater laser imaging, and an interactive role playing game created by 6-year old, Falon Clark.

The Southern Maryland Innovation and Technology (SMIT) and PaxSpace are sponsoring the Crab Pot Pitch Contest, May 13. 2015, beginning at 6 pm at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum.

Innovative concepts, products and services with the potential for business growth in St. Mary’s County will compete for a first and second place cash prizes and follow up mentoring opportunities.

The public is invited to attend and participate in the selection of the People’s Choice.

Semi-finalists will make their pitch to the audience in a speed round with one innovator selected as the People’s Choice to compete with the finalists.

Finalists will provide five to seven minute pitches to judges who will score according to the viability of the business concept, degree of innovation, quality of the pitch and the potential for business growth in St. Mary’s County. The judges for this competition include investors, lenders, entrepreneurs and small business mentors who will select Crab Pot’s first and second place winners.
