What is Beach glass?
Also called sea glass , it is really “trash” that was discarded and found its way into the water. Most beach glass was originally dishes, glasses, cups, vases, crocks, lanterns, and bottles. But even windows and car tail lights became beautiful “sea gems”.
All of these glass or crockery pieces were smashed by waves, then sanded smooth as they were tossed in the sand by the water.
It’s estimated that it takes 30-40 years to make a piece of beach glass smooth all over.
