Southern Maryland students between 6 and 17 years old are sure to find something to be excited about in the schedule of College of Southern Maryland’s Kids & Teen College.
Kids from second grade to high school juniors can sign up until May 15 for Summer Aerospace Camp, offered by The Patuxent Partnership and St. Mary’s County Public Schools. Camp sessions are set for July 2018 at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center in Leonardtown, MD.

Introducing the first installment to appear online of Mary Gale Adams’ “A Who’s Who of St. George Island,” a work called “a true oral history.” The 250-page compilation of stories, recipes, and home remedies was collected, written, typed, bound, and covered by Ms. Adams, herself a native of the St. George Island community.

Crab season in the Chesapeake won’t open until April. Video of a crab-scraper working the “flats” around Smith Island gives a good taste of a disappearing life. Southern Maryland waters don’t have the type of aquatic grass needed to acccommodate the harvesting method.
