Skip the Malls for AMG on Black Friday
Stay away from the chaos of Black Friday in the regular retail stores and find a gift that is truly unique. Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center is opening its gift shop from 10 am to 5 pm Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, for a serious Black Friday Sale.
Get into Annmarie Garden free and go straight to the Gift Shop in the Murray Arts Building, 13480 Dowell Road in Dowell, Md. There, in addition to regular Gift Shop offerings, you’ll find the 8th Annual Ornament Show and Sale,. The show will run at Annmarie Garden until Jan. 2, 2016. The Ornament Show and Sale is a juried show that features hand-crafted ornaments by regional artists. This is the perfect place to find unique and affordable gifts for friends and family. The ornaments are beautifully hung on trees displayed in the Main Gallery of the Arts Building.
The ongoing ornament sale is a perfect place to find more Christmas gifts than you could possibly need. The ornaments are handmade by local artisans. The exhibits, artLAB, and sculpture garden will also be open.
At the same time, you can even make your own ornaments or other crafts in artLAB, which has wonderful activities for all ages and members of the family. Creations include ornaments, ugly sweaters, and festive trees made from recycled and repurposed materials. Reservations for artLAB are not required.
An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center (AMG) is located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. The sculpture garden features a walking path that meanders through the forest past permanent and loaned sculpture, including more than 35 works of art on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. AMG also presents a variety of award-winning special events, gallery shows, and engaging public art programs. AMG’s Studio School offers creative classes for all ages and abilities taught by a talented faculty.
