Parade Planners Ready! Just Need Spectators: Saturday Morning
Members of the Pride in the Park Parade Planning Committee are meeting Wed. April 30, 2014 to put the finishing touches on the roll out of the May 3rd parade in Lexington Park, Maryland.
The meeting will be held at the Community Development Corporation’s offices located at 46940 South Shangri-La Drive, Suite 100 in Lexington Park, Maryland 20653, starting at 6:30 pm.
If you are not a member of the Planning Committee, you can still help by circulating the flyer announcing the parade to friends, co-workers and family members. We’ve just passed the 400 participants mark (!!) for the Saturday, May 3rd parade which is surely to be one of the very best, according to Robin A. Finnacom, Acting Director, St. Mary’s County Department of Economic and Community Development.
The Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department and turn down Shangri La Drive to march past the Lexington Park Library and down to South Essex Drive to Great Mills Road. The Parade ends at Raley’s Home Furnishings just past the soon to be open FDR Boulevard.
This year’s Parade honors the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department, soon to be opening an office in Lexington Park, Maryland.
Please help us drum up a great crowd of spectators to see the many people who are literally putting their best foot forward to honor the many brave men and women of the Sheriff’s Office. Parade flyer below. Thanks!!!
