RADM Jonathan White, Oceanographer and Navigator of the Navy, Director, Space and Maritime Domain Awareness (OPNAV N2/N6E), will discuss climate change and its implications for the future of our country. The lecture takes place at St. Mary’s Hall on St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s campus Nov. 12, 2014 and is a joint program by The Patuxent Partnership and the Center for the Study of Democracy at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

The Arctic ice is melting ahead of predictions and sea levels are rising. How will that affect us and should we be worried? What does it mean for the US Navy? What will the Arctic look like by 2025? More tourism, new shipping routes, exploitation of natural resources?

Before 2025 the Navy hopes to answer these and other questions regarding the future of the Arctic and the implications for the Navy and our country. RADM White will share his insights on this critical issue.

Doors open at 4 pm, the program begins at 4:30 pm. For more information or to register, please visit www.paxpartnership.org. This program is free and open to the public.
