Walden Behavioral Healthkicked off what it hopes will be an ongoing celebration of the lived experience of recovery from addiction and/or trauma this morning with its first Recovery Walk in Leonardtown, Maryland. The event featured a light breakfast, face painting, a three quarter-mile walk and an Open Mic session for participants to speak about the life and work of recovery or to honor others who struggling to overcome addictive disease or traumatic experiences. The event was sponsored by Dan and Jane Ichniowski; Julie, Bob and Mary Randall; Rep. Steny Hoyer and Wyle.
