Meet the F-14 Tomcat April 12
Discover Naval Aviation with a visit to the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum on April 12 to meet the F-14 Tomcat.
The museum’s bi-monthly program, Meet the Airplane! runs 12 – 3 pm April 12, 2014. Each program features an aircraft that has played a part in the history of naval aviation.
The upcoming program features the F-14 Tomcat and provides an opportunity for visitors to view exhibits about the Tomcat and discuss this versatile aircraft with pilots and RIO (Radio Intercept Officers).
The panel is expected to include Cdr. Joe Edwards, Capt. Mike Rabens, Capt. Dave Madsen and Adm. Dave Venlet. The panel members will gather for a discussion at 2 pm in the main exhibit hall.
Weather permitting, a restored MiG cockpit will be available outside with volunteers who are looking forward to seeing you.
There will be special activities for children including building paper airplanes, facepainting, carrier landings, and radar games! 50/50 raffle drawings will be at 1:30 pm and 3 pm. An Aerocatures print by Hank Caruso will be raffled as well. Each raffle ticket also gives you a discount at Mattedi Gallery.
Food will be available for purchase from Days Off Catering. Tables will be set up in the main exhibit hall if you would like to eat while you listen to the panel.
