Higher Education Center Presents Film Festival

The Bridges to the World is an International Film series that will run for five weeks on Wednesday evenings from Feb. 6 through March 6 at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in the Center Hall, Building II, and will feature films chosen by the embassies of the respective countries. Each film will be introduced, screened, and followed by a discussion.
Presentations begin at 6:30 p.m. All films will be shown with English subtitles. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, February 6 Czech Repulic Citizen Havel
Wednesday, February 13 Uruguay Journey to the Sea
Wednesday, February 20 Israel Eli and Ben
Wednesday, February 27 Taiwan Kung Fu Dunk
Wednesday, March 6 Australia Red Dog
Tickets are not required for these free screenings; however seating is on a first-come basis.
The Bridges to the World International Film Series is a statewide, month-long initiative in recognition of the State’s global reach and a reflection of those connections here in Maryland. World Artists Experiences and the International Division of Maryland’s Office of the Secretary of State, in conjunction with the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, Frostburg University, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Salisbury University and Towson University invite the public to attend free screenings of five international films, one each from Czech Republic, Uruguay, Israel, Taiwan and Australia.
