Local artisans and crafters will be showing and selling their wares at the Maker’s Market at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center in Solomons.

The monthly event is the best place to find handmade, homemade, or homegrown products.

There will be artists selling crafts, hanging baskets, organic skincare products, farm fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, batik and fleece clothing, handmade soaps and candles, herbal teas, ornaments, folkart, handmade gifts, and so much more! Delight in the local treasures to be found here!

Annmarie hosts the Maker’s Market monthly. This month’s is from 9 am to noon Sept. 5. Additional markets will be held the first Saturdays of October, November and December. The December market has special hours of 2 to 9 pm to make extra time for the holiday sales.

The market is closed in January.

Admission to the Market area is free to visitors.

The list of vendors who come to the Market’s Market is extensive. It includes dozens of artists in many different kinds of crafts. Fall is the perfect time to begin Christmas shopping for unique gifts that cannot be found in stores. Artisans can offer both goods and services and make up the best of Southern Maryland’s artistic community. Their products can be worn, displayed, and even tasted. They include children’s items, illustrations, sea glass treasures and dozens of other types of original work. The event truly offers something for anyone who can appreciate original artwork and handmade products.

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Art Center is located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. The sculpture garden features a 1/4 mile walking path that meanders through the woods past permanent and loaned sculpture, including more than 30 works on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. Artists in the collection include: Antonio Tobias Mendez, Barbara Hepworth, Cesar, Robert Engman, Jean Arp, Kenneth Snelson and Fransisco Zuniga. The award-winning Arts Building includes rotating exhibition space, a gift shop, and a sunny patio. Annmarie presents a variety of popular annual festivals, rotating exhibitions, family activities, and creative public programs. The Studio School offers classes for all ages and abilities – from pottery to dance – taught by professional artists and arts educators. Come explore this special place where art and nature meet!
