Steny Hoyer Thanks the Neighborhood for the Party
Thank you for joining me at the first annual Southern Maryland Family Picnic. I was honored that so many members of our community showed their support by attending the event. We had beautiful weather and a great view of the Chesapeake Bay, and I hope you all enjoyed it.
With nearly a month until Election Day, we’re working hard to make this a successful campaign, but we can’t do it without your help. My campaign is looking for volunteers to make calls at our phone bank, canvas local neighborhoods, and hand out information at the polls during early voting and on Election Day. I hope you’ll reach out to my campaign staff to participate; information on how to do so is below.
Thank you again for attending the Picnic this weekend, and I look forward seeing you again as we prepare for Election Day.

SOUTHERN MARYLAND PHONE BANK: At 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays, my campaign holds a phone bank at 22099 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD. My campaign also organizes canvassing every Saturday at 12:00 p.m. To contribute your time as a volunteer at the phone bank, please e-mail email@example.com.
EARLY VOTING AND ELECTION DAY: My campaign is looking for volunteers to hand out information at the polls during early voting (Saturday, October 28th – Thursday, November 1) and on Election Day (November 6). To contribute your time as a volunteer, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
REMINDER: REGISTER TO VOTE ONLINE: For the first time, Maryland voters can now register to vote and update their address information online. To register online, an eligible Maryland resident must have a Maryland-issued driver’s license or an ID card issued by Maryland’s Motor Vehicle Administration. The deadline to register online is 9:00 p.m. on October 16, 2012. Click here for more information.
NEW ONLINE VOTING RIGHTS APP: I launched a new interactive online voting rights app that includes information on voter registration, new voting requirements, and early voting in Maryland. It’s critical that voters in Maryland and across the country have the most up-to-date information so that they can register, cast their ballot, and ensure their vote is counted on Election Day. Please share this helpful tool on social media or by embedding the app on webpages. http://www.democraticwhip.gov/VotingRights
