Business Growing in Lexington Park

A passel of successes erupted along Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, MD, this spring.

Some are very obvious, such as the clearing for the new Taylor Gas facility (video below) and tree clearing across from Great Mills High School in preparation of a new medical arts campus going there.

Another tremendous success coming to the neighborhood will be largely completed out of sight, under secure conditions: a $14 million defense contract awarded to Compass Systems, Inc. to be completed primarily at the firm’s headquarters on Great Mills Road, Lexington Park, MD.

Just on the horizon is the long anticipated move of the Patuxent Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore into space next to Ollie’s in St. Mary’s Square. While still awaiting a final moving date for the trek down Great Mills Road from its current hideaway at Coral Drive, the more easily accessible storefront location will do its part, as well, toward drawing the increased economic activity the neighborhood needs.
