Fairies and Gnomes Coming to Annmarie Garden

Tucked amongst the flowers and magic of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center are fairies and gnomes preparing this year’s Fairy & Gnome Home Festival & Tour on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Festivities include unicorn rides; amulet and crown construction; creating a fairy or gnome home in the fairy village (constructed from natural materials provided by Annmarie Garden);fantasy face painting; and a wonder-FULL Fairy Obstacle Course to entice all ages!

Explore more than 50 spectacular fairy and gnome homes created for Annmarie Garden’s fairy and gnome friends. This year a select number of homes are available for silent auction, bid on your favorite one. All proceeds go toward the artLAB, Annmarie Garden’s creative resource center, which will be open during the Fairy & Gnome Home Festival!

Cosmic Flute Choir, Bagpiper Kevin Foley, Hula Hoop dancers, and other enchanting musicians will perform throughout the day.

Admission is $5 for ages 3 and over; FREE for ages 2 and under.

Specialty fairy and gnome items, foods and drinks will also be available for purchase.

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution,  located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay.  The sculpture garden features a walking path that meanders through the forest and past sculptures that include more than 30 works on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art.

Annmarie Garden also presents a variety of award-winning special events and gallery shows. Annmarie Garden’s Studio School offers creative classes for all ages taught by a talented faculty.

Annmarie Garden is open 9am-5pm daily; the Arts Building and Gift Shop are open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
