As winter starts to thaw, classes beginning March 7 and March 8 at Annmarie Garden are tactile and meditative. Two textile classes fill the day March 7 and involve fabric, yarn and ribbon for circle art as well metal working, learning the ancient art of chainmaille. Then on March 8 Zentangle classes begin, the
Circle Weaving March 7 10am – 1pm
Come weave with instructor Erica Daley! Use scraps of fabric, yarn, and ribbon to create circular art. Students can choose what they make with their own circles. Examples and ideas will be provided. Materials fee ranges based on the fabrics and fibers chosen from the instructor’ s supply, but feel free to bring your own unique yarns, ribbons, and fabric scraps.

Celtic Star Pendant March 7 2pm – 4:30pm
Learn from instructor Jerry Garnsey how to weave a celtic star pendant from metal wire using the ancient art of chainmaille. Chainmaille is the process of weaving together individual metal rings to create metal designs and mesh-like patterns. No experience necessary– each kit includes everything needed to create one pendant.

Two Zentangle Classes March 8 10:30am – Noon & 1:pm – 3pm
Learn the basics in morning workshop, then build your skills in the second session! Expand your skills in class 2! Students will focus on free-flowing, challenging, and naturally occurring elemental patterns, adding them to your foundational palette to create pieces known as ZIAs. Some zentangle experience required. ($5 discount if you take both)
