7th Annual Calvert Green Expo & Green Craft Fair

Go green – good planets are hard to find!

Learn how and share what you know at the 7th Annual Calvert Green Expo & Green Craft Fair presented by the Calvert County Citizen’s Green Team at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, May 2.

The Calvert Green Expo highlights environmentally-friendly products, services, ideas, and gifts!  The Green Expo is a great place to connect with local groups, learn about energy-saving techniques, and hear about living more sustainably.

Admission is FREE. Free children’s activities fill the day. There are phenomenal giveaways, green shopping with green-product vendors.

Engaging and interesting booths include great food, too!

Pick up a Children’s Passport at the Welcome Booth, a guide for young children to a a fun adventure exploring the hands-on activities at the Expo!

NEW THIS YEAR

Live entertainment will be part of the Green Expo this year. The performance schedule is:
11-11:45am listen to Mark Giuffrida’s  Healing Sounds , an interactive music experience for all ages.
Noon-12:45pm enjoy the blues, folk, rock and country sound of this dynamic acoustic duo, Jim & Kathy.

1-1:45pm singer songwriter Daniel W. Hill will be performing his own material for all to enjoy.
2-2:45pm check out this local saxophone quartet, Sax Appeal as the roll out the jazz, blues, and more!

Don’t miss the TESLA S 100% electric automobile. Recent news for this unique car manufacture states, Tesla Motors Inc. delivered 10,030 vehicles in the first quarter of 2015, a record quarterly mark that represents a 55% increase compared to the first three months of 2014.

Several new vendors will be on hand this year, too. Bay Stone Arts, carrying handmade jewelry with fossil and stones from Calvert Cliffs. Products from The Ruby Foxs Den include natural skin care products, a variety of farm eggs, and hand painted creations. Greenstreet Growers Inc. has information about greenwalls, organic products, and landscaping. Toxin free personal cleaning products, dehydrated and freeze-dried foods can be found at  Save & Thrive with Sha, next to the TESLA S.

The UMCES Chesapeake Biological Lab will have a booth this year where visitors can learn about important environmental aspects of the Chesapeake Bay science and research, featuring a watershed model.

Guests of all ages will enjoy exploring the vendor booths and having a chance to talk with leaders and educators in the “green living” atmosphere. Be sure to learn about new developments in renewable energy and green technology, discuss how to lower home energy costs, harness solar power, build a green home, plant a healthier garden, or compost your waste!  The Green Expo coincides with the Annmarie Garden’s monthly Maker’s Market, so there are also many Earth-friendly, repurposed, home grown, and fair trade gifts for sale!  The Green Expo will give you the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to go green in your everyday life! From Washington DC(about a 60 minute drive): take Route 4 South to Capital Beltway Exit 11 (to Prince Frederick). Continue on 4 South, following signs to Solomons. Left on Dowell Road at Hilton Garden Inn. Annmarie is less than 1/4 mile on left.  From Baltimore (Beltway I-695):  take I-97 (Annapolis) to Route 301 South (Bowie). Continue on 301 to Route 4 and follow signs to Solomons. Left on Dowell Road at Hilton Garden Inn. Annmarie is less than 1/4 mile on left.  From Annapolis: follow Route 2 South towards Prince Frederick/Solomons. Left (South) onto Route 2/4 at Sunderland light. Left on Dowell Road at Hilton Garden Inn.  Annmarie is less than 1/4 mile on left.
