Give your kids the experience of a lifetime with Summer Space Camp, a collaboration between St. Mary’s County Public Schools and The Patuxent Partnership. This ninth annual Space Camp focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun and exciting learning environment.

There are two age groups for the camps — grades two through six and grades seven through 11; both are at Great Mills High School from 9 am to 3 pm

For the elementary grades, choose one week, either July 20-23 or July 27-30.

For the higher grades, students may register for both weeks, July 20-23 and 27-30. The first week will focus on rocketry and the second week will focus on robotics and quadcopters.

Students will get a chance to participate in hands-on, minds-on activities for topics like earth science, engineering, rocketry, space citizenship and space science through authentic field experiences that could include trips to Patuxent River Naval Air Station or the NASA Goddard Space Center.

Tuition is just $85 per week and scholarships are available for students who qualify for free and reduced meals.

Online registration is available by visiting the St. Mary’s County Public Schools website at www.smcps.org and clicking on the “Students/Parents” tab. The information can be found under the “Summer Activities” link on the left side of the page. To register select the session your student would like to attend and fill out the registration form provided.
